About Us

Our goal at Extreme Element is to promote extreme sports courses, training and experiences across the UK & Abroad. The staff here at Ex Element are actively involved in a wide range of extreme pursuits and pride ourselves in offering expert advice to make sure that you get the maximum out of your course or experience. As part of the Extreme Media Group we are able to offer an unrivalled range of extreme activities across our network of partner centres.

The team at Extreme Element have been involved in the extreme sports industry in various guises for the last 10 years. It all started with the foundation of the 1st dedicated extreme sports TV channel 'The Extreme Sports Channel' back in 1994. Today Extreme runs one of the busiest online surf/skate/snow retailers (extremepie.com) and has extended its brand to mobile phones, drinks, travel (Ex Travel), hotels (Ex Hotels) and much much more.

Meet the Team

Damian 'Pipa' Nogaro - COO

Pipa brings in depth experience in corporate finance with over 8 years of Investment Banking and Private Equity at Citigroup, ARF (the first Argentine Public Offer Trust Fund for investors in capital markets) and Columbus MB, a boutique Investment Bank he founded with former Citibankers. He always had a great passion for action sports and during his MBA at INSEAD he met Extreme Element’s team. Shortly after, he jumped on board to also make everyone’s life a bit more extreme. Pipa’s main responsibilities focus on financial management and international business development.

Tim Brickle - MD & Founder

Tim has been in the adventure travel and online marketing business for the last 6 years. Working as Online Marketing Manager at Cactus Language he moved on to set up what have now become some of the busiest activity holiday sites on the net - including adventuresportsholidays.com. A chance meeting with Al at Extreme led to the creation of Extreme Element. Ex Element launched in November 2006 and has now become the leading extreme sports specialist in the UK with offices opening in the US and South Africa this year, and retail deals in the top 4 UK Supermarkets.

Al Gosling - CEO Extreme Group

Al developed a passion for extreme sports during his early teens and following a number of jobs went on to set up a business that would rapidly grow into the Extreme Group. Aged 24 and unable to find a job that interested him, he set up Extreme with the goal of mixing sports and business, working with great people and having fun while making it happen. Running on a shoestring budget, from an office in a converted barn more akin to a mountain hut or surf-shack than the headquarters of a fast growing media business, Al and the team rapidly agreed a number of deals with producers and broadcasters to sell and distribute extreme and action sports television programmes all over the world. In April 1998, Al had the vision to create and launch the world’s first TV channel dedicated to extreme sports, The Extreme Sports Channel. The goal was to launch a 24/7 TV channel broadcasting these sports worldwide via satellite to an under-served audience. And the rest as they say is history.

Since then Al and the team have taken the Brand and developed it into drinks, shops, mobile phones, theme parks and clothing. This year the group employs 247 people and is on target to reach $45m turnover.

Duncan Wood - Sales & Operations

Having spent most of his life growing up and living by the coast it is no surprise that Duncan is a born watersports enthusiast. Having learnt to surf in the frigid waters off North West Scotland, he quickly found his niche, and developed his love for watersports. Since leaving school Duncan has spent over a year living and travelling extensively in South East Asia, studied at two Universities, and still managed to fit in various seasons both here in the UK and abroad as a Lifeguard and Surfing Instructor! Having done many different jobs, from teaching English in China to Managing a small café, Duncan has now decided it time to follow his passion for Extreme Sports, and is the newest member of the Extreme Team, heading up the Sales and Operations Division. When not in the office he can be found on any beach, if not in the water, engaging in his other passion, photography.
